Peter Tessier: Comeback win gives Jets big 2 points The Jets showed some jam and form that earned them 2 points let alone the extra point in a game that had almost everything.

I think Petan when on the 4th line with Perreault and Ros has been good but what twitter verse never seems to bring up is results!! There were none, by any of them. Appleton has come in and now that line is finding the scoresheet, this is the biggest point. I am always amazed at the amount of people who would choose slightly better analytics ( when both are positive ) over actual results.

This from liverpool (and Ross) from a previous blog:

I know I’ve mentioned it before but let’s try and get together for an away game at the tavern or BP downtown. Maybe if a few us meet we can either have a few laughs or it breaks out into a brawl, both would be funny. Anyways, I’m in.

Gentleman, my son's and I are making our pilgrammage from Atlanta to Winnipeg January 11-16. I would be honored to host a get together - my treat for snacks/appetizers and drinks- at your Downtown watering hole before the Moose game, which we will attend, on January 12. What say yee?....
We are also attending the Jets games on the 13th and 15th and the Moose on the 14th. Those dates could work also, but I figured Saturday might work best for the group....

Not sure how this slipped through when it looks like free beer...

A low point from officials over the weekend was the embellishment call on Little. Consider that he was checked illegally from behind into the boards - a dangerous play that the league claimes to be cracking down on - and also consider that Little has missed about 6 months of his career with cracked vertebrae and has no history of diving/embellishment. BS call.

Ultimate. Respectfully, why would Peter want to create an Id of a 21 year old kid who gets everything he says wrong , obviously has very limited real hockey knowledge, and someone that just about everyone ignores on this board. It makes no sense at all. An ID like that just ends up driving good posters away from this board because they get tired of reading all the crap he spews out. Its not in Peter's interest to drive away volume.

I don't think Peter uses multiple ID's . I do believe others do though.

No collusion!
Witch hunt!
Good people on both sides

Dude I usually have some form of agreement with all posters here but if I wanted to use a sock account I’d use my old one

Anyhow not me. Always appreciate the comments.

The biggest problem Jets had last night was Lundqvist ... other than that - I saw a Jets team control most of the game

I say keep playing Appleton on 4th line until further notice ... if Perrault goes down then draw Petan in and see if that Moose line can click in the show

Should Niku play wing ? ... big debate Saturday night, last, fueled by ample beers and a hot tub ... I say it looks like he already is ... a conclusion was not rendered - nor consensus reached

CHARIOT !! ... I say this guy is improving leaps and bounds and is playing with authority ... yes/no ? ... right now he's my 2LD hands down

SCHEIFS !! ... as of this morning - T9th goals, T10th in points ... and, as I was double checking those stats, named 1st Star of the Week

I've seen 10 games live and most, if not all, others on the tube ... there are issues to address but I say Jets are gelling ... they need to concentrate on team defence and consistency (full 60) of play ... Laine certainly looks to be at home with Connor & Little ... TLC is back together ... Ehlers gets the privilege of playing with Wheels & Scheifs ... and the 4th is battling along

If anything - we could bolster LHD

He's still 6'4" and 260-ish. As for return I bet some time later next week.

Thanks Peter.

Interested to see how the Jets do without their MVP for a stretch.

I think the 260 lbs is now a myth. He is much slimmer than he was when the Jets came back and he did weigh at least that.

I would think he is around 230 lbs, but the Jets leave his listed weight as 260 for intimidation purposes.

When Maurice was lowering expections pre-season he said that he wasn't expecting the team to pick up where they left off but that the process of building the identity and playing the right way needs to begin again (as it does every year). They are looking more like the team that found ways to win last year though I would like to see a few more 3rd period leads held.

I would rather see Appleton and Petan than Lemieux. Platoon them until one or both play their way onto, or, off the team.

Lemieux needs a fresh start somewhere else. Jets are a team that is always on the edge of taking too many penalties and Lemieux's reputation and play don't help.

Chiarot is an excellent 5/6 d. The team needs his physical play - his game in Jersey was terrific but probably we shouldn't get used to a performance at that level.

Charoit has had a great road trip thus far. He's being physical and picking up the slack left by Buffs injury. Lowrys line plays physical and keeps the puck in their opponents end but really are not a threat to score. I would like to see Lemieux playing on that the line with Lowry and Tanev as he is much better offensively than Copp. Perreault is another player that has been surpassed offensively by some of the Jets younger players. I don't expect Maurice to make any moves unless he's pushed into it by injury. Where's Poolman?

Lemieux offers nothing anywhere. Copp is a 30 point player who offers elite defensive play.

Lemieux is an AHL tweener who offers nothing st this level
